In the piece “Postman on the motorcycle” an interaction of red, blue
and green
figures delicately renders for us an image of a young man full of hopes and
dreams,
travelling by motorcycle.
The man delivers the mail. Elements of
geometric
composition symbolizing the mail are the dominant
elements of the work. Their weight, the geometric
mass, provides the major figurative weight
of the
entire composition. It
simultaneously moves down
and at the same time forward.
This pendulum like
that of
watch, forces the whole mechanism
of the
figurative composition to
work.
Not many artists
have succeeded in
creating so
powerful a dominance

The rhythm of color elements is accordingly: 2 beige +3 yellow + 2 blue
+ 2 green
+ 3 red + 2 orange + 4 black
principal masses. These produce a disharmonious
harmony like the
power of the first chords of the
organ music of I. S .Bach.
The postman’s figure consists of
vibrating planes which become balanced by the
help of lines
dividing it into the components. Color spectrum of the lines
not
only underscores their
attitude to one another’s color
mass, but is the basis of
figure composition. The artist
succeeded in building up a poetic and philosophic
image at the cost
of deep analysis, throwing away all
the secondary details and
keeping symmetry of color
spectrum and figure
